Rock Hill, South Carolina - Carolyn Gibson Amerson, 75, died Monday, October 4, 2021 at Piedmont Medical Center, Rock Hill, SC after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
The family will be receiving friends Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 7:00-8:30 P.M. at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at West End Baptist Church, 1727 McConnells Highway, Rock Hill, SC 29732, with Reverend Jay Rebsamen officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
Born July 28, 1946 in Lockhart, SC, she was the daughter of the late J.B. and Pearl Huntsinger Gibson. Carolyn was the wife of Ronnie Amerson, devoted husband for 58 years. In addition to her husband, Carolyn is survived by her children, Ronnie Amerson, Jr., Carol Franklin (Jim), Lorrie Warner, Rhonda Pridemore (Brandon), ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, her sister, Lana Huddleston (Reid), and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers, Larry Gibson and Johnny Gibson and two great-grandchildren.
Carolyn was a loving, wonderful wife and loved her family. She loved sewing, baking, cooking in general and spending time with family. She worked as a bookkeeper at Rock Hill National Bank, South Carolina National Bank, M. Lowenstein Corporation, Richmar Fashion, Bareco Products and retired from The Children's Attention Home.
Carolyn loved the Lord and served as Assistant Sunday School Teacher to her husband, Bible School teacher, Youth Committee member, Church Missions Treasurer, Church Hostess, Missions Committee member, sang in the choir and helped in the nursery.
She is now reunited with her parents, brothers, grandparents, and two great grandsons that she never got to see on earth. Carolyn will be missed here, but we will be reunited in heaven.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association and West End Baptist Church.

Ron and family. I was so shocked and saddened to hear about Carolyn's passing. She was a very sweet person and I know she loved her family. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this time of bereavement and loss. There is comfort in knowing that you WILL see her again in heaven along with those that have gone before. May God wrap His loving arms around you during this time. Praying for you Ron. With Love
