Dorothy Greene Obituary
Dorothy Rogers Greene
April 18, 1933 - November 20, 2025
Blair, South Carolina - On the morning of November 20, 2025, Dorothy (Dot) Rogers Greene met her Savior and Heavenly Father at the age of 92. "Then I shall bow, in humble adoration, and then proclaim, my God, how great Thou art" were likely words she proudly sang upon that meeting. She looked forward to the reunion with her parents, Murray and Inez Rogers, and husband of 63 years, Carroll Greene.
Dot was raised in Rock Hill, SC, where she lived until the past few years when she moved with family to Lake Monticello. Rock Hill was a small town in her day, meaning she liked to connect-the-dots of "kin folks" she knew from the area when meeting new people. She was a member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church, a church family that welcomed her with open arms upon their move. Worshiping her Lord has been an integral part of her life, and she strived to live a life that glorified Him.
Dot's hearts' desire and favorite job was homemaker. Her most cherished titles were "Mom" and "Mamaw". She had five children, loving her inlaws as her own, including Richard "Ricky" Greene, Karen (Steve) Fox, Kelly (Jerry) Brindle, Scott (Stacie) Greene, and Kasey (Dave) Andrade. Additionally, she was loved and will be missed by 13 grandchildren (+9 in love), 12 great grandchildren (+2 in love), 3 great-great grandchildren, and a sister, Freida Gantt. She was also greeted in heaven by a son-in-law, Lance Shugart, and a brother, Pete Rogers, both of whom she loved dearly.
Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude for the care she received from Via Palliative and Hospice Care, specifically Sara and Keturah. Additionally, we would like to thank the church members at Lebanon Presbyterian Church for the outpouring of love and support.
Dot's wishes were to have a simple graveside service, which the family will honor and hold in private. However, her greatest hope was for all family and others to open their hearts to the forgiveness and love of Jesus.
