Edward L. Ayers, Jr.

Knoxville, Tennessee - Edward L. Ayers, Jr., 90, formerly of Rock Hill, SC, passed away February 12, 2022, in Knoxville, TN, surrounded by his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward L. Ayers, Sr., his mother, Louise R. Ayers, and his son, Dennis L. Ayers. He is survived by his wife, Janice L. Ayers, his daughter, Glenna Ghantt (Randy), and stepchildren, Keith Roper, Kristine Roper, Kevin Roper (Tracey), Kenneth Roper (Dawn), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was retired from Celanese Corporation where he worked for 41 years. He was an avid bowler and a member of the Rock Hill Bowling Association Hall of Fame. He also loved fishing every chance he got. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Ed and I used to work at the Celanese Corp., He taught me how to stripper fish, I have many fond memories of our fishing trips to Elliotts Landing at the Santee Lakes. I will miss Ed, he was a good guy.
