Seneca, South Carolina - Gerald "Jerry" Franklin Laughinghouse, 84, husband of Jean Fulcher Laughinghouse, of Seneca, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Belvedere Commons.
Born in Washington, NC, Mr. Laughinghouse was the son of the late John Edward Laughinghouse, Sr. and Neva Peed Laughinghouse. He was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed woodworking, photography, and being active within his church. Mr. Laughinghouse retired as a Senior Research Scientist from Georgia Pacific and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Laughinghouse is survived by his son: Jeffrey "Jeff" Bryan Laughinghouse (Nancy Middleton) of Durham, NC; daughter: Donna Murphy (Rick) of Seneca; and grandchildren: Jack Murphy, Owen Laughinghouse, and Norah Laughinghouse.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Laughinghouse was preceded in death by his brother: John Edward Laughinghouse, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at New Hope Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Oconee Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM 6:00 PM on Monday, May 27, 2024, at Davenport Funeral Home.
Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation at www.alzfdn.org.
The family will be at their respective homes.
