Martha Timony Obituary

Martha Timony
March 9, 1936 - October 29, 2020
Rock Hill, South Carolina - With profound sadness, we announce the death of our loving mother, Martha Ann Timony, age 84, just days after the passing of our father and her devoted husband, Joe. They had been married for 62 years.
Born in Bethlehem, PA, and residing in Washington Crossing, NJ for most of her life, she retired to Rock Hill, South Carolina, nearly 20 years before her death on October 29, 2020, at the Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill. There will be no services at this time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Daughter of the late Mary Knowles and Urban Dougherty, Martha graduated with a degree in Education from West Chester State University. After college, she moved to New Jersey with her husband, raised her four children, supported their various activities, and volunteered as a girl scout and cub scout leader. She also was employed at the New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company for 20 years.
She enjoyed baking, long walks, attending craft shows, and trips to Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens. Her family will especially miss her amazing array of appetizers, treats, and blueberry coffee cake that she always offered in abundance. More importantly, all who loved her will never forget her beautiful soul, quick wit and the love she had for her children and grandchildren.
Martha is survived by her four children and their spouses, Patricia and Eric Munie' of Warminster, PA; Tracy Timony, MD and Randy Rodrigue, MD, of Fort Mill, SC; James and Margaret Timony of Port St. Lucie, FL; and Jason Timony of Yardley, PA; and four grandchildren, Kelly and Erinne Munie' and Alex and Griffin Rodrigue as well as several nieces and nephews.
Condolences can be sent to the family C/O Tracy Timony, MD, 1665 Herlong Court, Suite A, Rock Hill, SC, 29732. Donations can be made in Martha's memory to the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens, a nonprofit organization funded and maintained by members for the community's benefit at www.dsbg.org.

Remembering Martha and Joe as if it were yesterday sitting in the den at house in Titusville, chatting away for hours. Missing them dearly and think of them often.

I think of Martha & Joe very often. I miss talking to them - just to catch up - especially - around the holidays - I treasure the memories we have as well as the Christmas cards written mostly, by Joe - while Martha was busy baking her delicious treats. As I said before - two of the most loving, wonderful people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. My thoughts to the family during this time.

Dear Patty, Tracy, Jimmy & Jason: There are no words to express my deepest sympathy for the loss of your wonderful parents. Martha & Joe were two of the kindest, most wonderful people I have ever had the honor of calling my friends. From NJM days to visits at your house in Titusville, they are all cherished memories. I will leave my address, when anyone would be up to it I would love to be able to speak to you. Prayers to all of you and your families. Sincerely, Paula & Mike Serediuk
