Rock Hill, South Carolina - Matthew Hartman Robertson, age 16, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021.
Matthew was born in Rock Hill, SC, and was the son of Amanda Gunter Robertson and Ryan Thomas Robertson.
From the time he could walk, Matthew had a fishing rod in his hand. He was the youngest angler to be featured on Get Reeled Fishing and has also been featured in a local fishing magazine. He spent most of his free time on Lake Wateree or nearby his home fishing with family. Matthew's other passion was cooking, where he could be found in the kitchen at home preparing meals for his mom, brother, and sister or creating special entrees at his dad's restaurant in Chester, SC.
Left to cherish Matthew's memory, in addition to his parents, are his siblings Anna Katherine Robertson and Jackson "Brody" Robertson, half-sister Brittany Leanna Robertson, maternal grandparents Charles Michael and Katherine White Legrand, great grandmother June White Smith (Roy), and paternal grandparents Jerry Thomas and Shuler Hartman Robertson. Matthew also leaves many of his extended family and friends. Last but not least, he will be remembered by his beloved dog, Shiloh.
A celebration of Matthew's life will be held for family and close friends.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the York County Police Department and its affiliates.

Looking at the wonderful pictures of Matthew impress to a degree the depth of loss ya'll are dealing with. He seemed to love his fishing! I can almost smell the fishy smell that comes with the sport. He was handsome young man. Please find strength in all who love you, Matthew and your family. There are more of us out here than you can count. My heart walks with you, my friend.
