Carolyn Godfrey FORT MILL - Mrs. Sarah Carolyn Thompson Godfrey, 82, of Fort Mill, S.C., died Thursday, February 25, 2016, at CMC-Pineville. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016, at the Fort Mill Church of God. The family will receive friends following the service. Born in Charlotte, Mrs. Godfrey was a daughter of the late Edward Eugene Thompson and Myrtle Faye Sagle Thompson. She retired as the office manager from Fort Mill Family Practice and was a member of Fort Mill Church of God. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed reading and woodworking. Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Marvin Dixon Godfrey; her son, Steven Dixon Godfrey and his wife, Debbie of Fort Mill; her son-in-law, Bobby Lawson of Fort Mill; her brother, Ted Eugene Thompson of Charlotte; her sister, June Faye Thompson Hammond of Rock Hill; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
