William Blackwell Obituary

William (Bud) Blackwell, 81, of Norris, Tennessee, formerly of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away in his home on October 4, 2025.

Bud was a devoted family man who cherished spending time outdoors, especially bird watching. His love for nature was only matched by his deep affection for his family and friends, who remember him as a kind and gentle soul.

Bud is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Becky) Blackwell; daughter, Tiffany Evans of Rock Hill, SC; son, Scott Blackwell of Charleston, SC. He adored his grandchildren, Margaret (Meg) Smith and husband Mark, Rori Baucom, Will Evans and wife Ashley, Olivia Evans of Rock Hill, SC, Rebecca Wilson and husband Chandler, Ceci Rousmaniere of Gastonia, NC, Liam and Bridget Blackwell of Hendersonville, NC. He is also survived by his brother, Don Blackwell and wife Maudie; sisters, Sandra Woodridge and husband Russ, and Becky Green all of Greenville, SC his brother in law Charlie Baker and wife Debbie of Georgetown, SC; his canine companion, Scruffy.

He was predeceased by his beloved son, Charles Ryan Blackwell. Bud often felt Ryan's presence from visiting cardinals.

A family celebration of Bud's life will be in Rock Hill, SC later this year.
