William Andrew Costner Jr.

William Costner Jr. ROCK HILL Mr. William Andrew Costner Jr., 86, died on Thursday, March 19, 2015. The funeral service will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel with Dr. Mickey Bolus officiating. Burial will be in Laurelwood Cemetery. A native of York County, S.C., Mr. Costner was a son of the late William Andrew Costner and the late Emma Hudson Costner. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII stationed at the Weeksville, N.C. blimp base. He retired from Duke Energy, the Catawba Plant in 1991. After retirement, he worked with his favorite niece and nephew (Gloria and Jimmy Wilson) at Wilson's Nursery. Mr. Costner was a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church and the American Legion. Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Bernice Williford Costner; his son, Richard D. Costner of New York, N.Y.; his daughter, Andrea Kaye Wilkinson of Rock Hill and his grandson, Robert William Reynolds Wilkinson (Jessica) of Columbia. He was predeceased by his brother, the Rev. Donald J. Costner. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. (prior to the service) at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel at 2133 Ebenezer Road in Rock Hill and other times at the home.
