McConnells, South Carolina - Mr. Wilmer Blease Earle, 92, of McConnells, SC, formerly of Clover, SC, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Beverly Shytle, his son-in-law, Reverend Dr. David Shytle, and his granddaughter, Kimberly Daves, in McConnells, SC, who honored and ministered unto their loving Dad and Granddad where Wilmer lived happily the last four years!
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 16, 2025, at the Clover ARP Church, 127 Kings Mountain Street, Clover, SC, with the Rev. Calvin Draffin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens, 1774 Filbert Hwy., York, SC.
Born in Clover, SC, Wilmer was married to the love of his life, the late Mrs. Betty Ann Hudgins Earle. They were happily married for 59 plus years and had three children, two daughters and one son. Their first born was their daughter, Angela Alma Earle, their second born daughter was Beverly Sue Earle, and their third born was Wilmer "Willie" Blease Earle, Jr.
He is survived by his daughter Beverly Sue Shytle (Rev. Dr. David Shytle), McConnells, SC; his son, Wilmer "Willie" Blease Earle, Jr. (Melissa), Clover, SC; his eight grandchildren, Steven Daves (Baily), Kimberly Dawn Daves, Kelly Miles (Kendrick), Jon Dal Santo (Libby), Elizabeth Putnam (Evan), Brock Earle, Nikki Earle, and Lillie Earle Ospina (Manuel); his seven great grandchildren, Aliyah Gibson, Steven Lane, James Cole, Stella Marie, Ezekiel Van, Maci Elizabeth, and Tobias River; his brothers, Tommy Earle (Rachel), Bobby Earle (Donna); his sisters, Barbara Ropp (Rev. John Ropp) and Dianne Wallace (Ronald); and his sister-in-law, Peggy Earle. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Alma Earle Dal Santo; his brother, Leonard Earle; and his sister, Sara Sherer and her husband, Rev. Bob Sherer.
Wilmer graduated from Clover High School, where he stood out as an outstanding player in baseball and football. Baseball was his favorite sport! He received his Associate's Degree in Business Management from Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, NC.
Wilmer worked for the Clover Post Office as a mail carrier and was Postmaster for many years. He worked a second job at night as a short order cook at Howard Johnsons Restaurant for over 10 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he proudly served in the United States Air Force as Sr. Command Central Specialist for four years. He was honorably discharged.
Wilmer loved life and was passionate about his Savior Jesus, first and foremost. He dearly loved his church family at the Clover ARP Church where he enjoyed weekly fellowshipping with them, talking about the Lord and sharing the Gospel.
