Alberta M. Hill, 88, of Benton Harbor passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, at her home.

A homegoing service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, at McCoy's Memorial Church of God & Christ, 1840 Union St., Benton Harbor, with Bishop James Hightower officiating. Burial will follow in Crystal Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Alberta was born in Ridgely, Tenn., on Feb. 9, 1933. Her family moved to Benton Harbor in 1949. She was employed at Bosch in St. Joseph, until she retired.

Alberta gave her life to Christ at a young age. She was a long-time member of the Word of Truth Deliverance Ministries in Benton Harbor, under Bishop James Hightower.

Alberta loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed family gatherings, holidays and reading her bible. Alberta was a very loving woman and was loved by everyone that knew her.

Alberta is survived by her nine children: Barbara (Douglas) McCall of Benton Harbor, Robert Hill of Stone Mountain, Ga., Georgette Hill-Burke of Benton Harbor, David Hill of Benton Harbor, Vickie Ferguson of Benton Harbor, Nathaniel Hill of Benton Harbor, Ronald (Lisa) Hill of Benton Harbor, Donald Hill of Benton Harbor and Stephen Hill of Benton Harbor; 30 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Alberta was preceded in death by her parents: Bryant and Cora Pearl Moore; ex-husband, Edward Hill; sister, Dorothy Moore; brothers: James Moore and William Moore; daughter, Annie Pearl Hill; sons: Charles Hill and William Hill; and grandsons: Kenneth Haley and Robert Samuel Lusk.

Sam and I would like to express our sincere sympathy to the family of Aunt Suzy. May her soul rest in peace and may God grant the family strength to endure this great pain. I will always cherish the beautiful memories of Aunt Suzy. She was so kind to me. Her death saddens us very much, although, we know she is with her Heavenly Father and is at rest She will never be forgotten. Love you Aunt Suzy.
