Alfred Dale Cummings, 75, of Sawyer, passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021.
Al was born on April 21, 1946, in Bad Axe, Mich., to Eldon H. and Tillie Cummings.
He received his bachelor's degree at Western Michigan University and his master's degree from Andover Newton Seminary in Boston. An ordained United Church of Christ Minister, Al led congregations in Massachusetts, St. Louis, and Indiana before retiring in Sawyer.
He enjoyed reading, bike riding and taking his grandchildren to the beach.
Al is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Eldon H. Cummings.
He is survived by his children: Scott Cummings and Kirsten (Eric) Johnson; three grandchildren: Benjamin, Lucas and Logan Johnson. He also leaves behind two brothers: Earnest Cummings and Jay Cummings, and many nieces and nephews.
Out of respect for Al's wishes, memorial services will be private. The family would like to thank the many friends and loved ones who have reached out and shared their fond memories of our beloved father and grandfather.

May he rest in peace and his family know he made a positive difference in many lives. His focus in his sermons for the week were heard and allowed others to hold on to the fact there is good in this world. Bless you as you think of your loved one. Elaine Criswell

Not sure you will receive this. I just found out about your Dad's passing. My deepest sympathies. Al helped me with counseling in my time of need. He will never be forgotten. He was a good man.
