He was a proud coach and player of Whirlpool's undefeated softball and bowling teams, where he forged lifelong friendships and shared his passion for sports. His enthusiasm for athletics extended beyond the field; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame football, faithfully following their seasons and celebrating their triumphs with immense joy.

He was preceded in death by his siblings: James and Kelley Benya.
To his children and grandchildren, Charles was an unwavering source of love and support. He placed family above all else, attending games, recitals, graduations and milestones with pride and enthusiasm. His home was a haven of warmth and laughter, where he imparted values of kindness, humility and perseverance to his loved ones. His legacy lives on in the laughter of his children and grandchildren, the stories shared by friends, and the enduring love of his family.
Beyond his immediate family, Charles leaves behind a cherished circle of honorary daughters, including: Paula Cerney, Julie Lischer, Dana Humes, Tracy Zona, Ally Egan, Kelly Reeves, Marcie Morrow, Sandy D., Tina Santarlas, Jeri Boomer and Jerilyn Mulholland.

Chuck was nothing but kind, respectful, and fun to work with. I have thought about him often in recent years. I know that I and his other workmates would love to know about a celebration of life. He deserves that.

To the family of Charles Benya. So sorry to hear of his passing. Being a long time friend of Charles' mother Rita, watched her children grow up. It was a Christmas ritual during Rita's lifetime that at Chritmas Time I always made her a Cheese cake at Christmas time. She also always had a Christmas party and Dinner for her friends, which I always enjoyed so much. My continued prayers for his remaining family, especially for his younger brother John, to whom I was very close to, He was like one of my own children. Charlie may you Rest in Peace with your family loved ones who have gone before you.

Met chuck at Whirlpool about 10 years before I retired. He had just retired a few months before. Liked him from the start, always a great guy and supervisor. Glad to call him a friend. Rest in peace Chuck. My sincerest sympathy to the family.
