Deslin Gargus Obituary
Deslin Wayne Gargus was born Dec. 21, 1956, the son of Harold and Joyce (Carlisle) Gargus, both of whom preceded him in passing.
Deslin passed away at the age of 68 on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, Mich.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, March 21, at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, where a memorial celebration of life service to honor his memory will take place at 11 a.m. with Pastor Lonnie Truelove officiating. Deslin graduated from Hartford High School in 1973 and was employed at the Smith Lumber Company for many years. In his spare time, he tried riding his motorcycle without much luck, crashing it and finally giving up. He also loved hunting, fishing and most important to him was the time spent with his grandchildren.
Deslin leaves behind to cherish his memory, a son, Chad (Laura) Gargus; five grandchildren: Alexis Gargus, Isabelle Gargus, Krystin Ward, Adelle Ruple and Harper Ruple, along with two brothers: Tony Gargus and Buddy Gargus; his significant other, Wanda Langston Emanuel and numerous other family members and friends.
