Ellen Delores Sips, a lifelong resident of New Buffalo, was born on March 9, 1942, and passed away peacefully on Oct. 10, 2021.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel of Starks Family Funeral Homes, 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo.

Ellen is survived by her twin brother, Edward; twin sisters, Grace Fradette and Gail Trusha; sister, Carol Wold; niece, Kathy Wold; nephew, John Wold; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucy and Edward Sips Sr.; and nephews, Jim Wold, Al Loring Jr., and Chuck Loring Sr.

Ellen was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She retired from New Buffalo Area Schools.

Ellen enjoyed spending time outside working in her garden and yard. She will be remembered and missed by many.

A private family committal service was held at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo. Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.

The family expresses their sincere appreciation to Dunes Hospice and Trail Creek Place for their kindness and loving care of their sister in her last few months.

I have only known Ellen for a few years. She will be missed. I always treasured chatting with her and miss her warm hello and the welcomed feeling she always gave me and my dogs. She was a wonderful person. I am fortunate to have known her.

Ellen was such a delight to run into at school, in her yard , or riding her bike! She was always so nice , kind and friendly and had a beautiful smile! She was always a hard worker. May she Rest In Peace.
