Jacquelyn Kay Hoger Woodruff, 89, passed away peacefully on Sept. 14, 2025, in Burlington, North Carolina.
Born in Paw Paw, on March 7, 1936, Jacque was known for her warmth, humor and deep love for her family. She married John Bartram Woodruff on Aug. 30, 1968, and together they raised two sons: Allen and John, in Watervliet. John passed away in 1985, a loss Jacque carried with grace and strength.
She lived in Paw Paw and Kalamazoo, Mich., before relocating to North Carolina in 2005 to escape the harsh winters she never liked. In her later years, Jacque found joy in simple pleasures: riding her tricycle, watching movies, crocheting lap robes and making rosaries, which she generously gave to others as expressions of her faith and compassion.
A devoted member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Graham, North Carolina, Jacque remained active in her faith and community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents: Harriet Irene Kaiser and Charles F. Hoger and her sisters: Shirley Burza and Patricia Johnson Burza.
She is survived by her sons, Allen and John; her granddaughter, Rachel; and many friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will take place at 10 a.m. followed by a Catholic funeral mass at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 6, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1620 Hanford Road, Graham, N.C. 27253.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to a food pantry of your choice, enjoying a bike ride, or calling someone you love.
