Jimmy W. Young

Jimmy Wayne Young, 79, of Paw Paw passed away on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.

A funeral service will be at noon on Thursday, Oct. 30, at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman, MI 49106. Friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon, prior to the service. Burial will be in New Troy Cemetery.

Jimmy was born on May 26, 1946, in Bowling Green, Ky., the son of the late Cleatis and Edna (Washington) Young. On Oct. 22, 2003, he married the former Donna Daniel. Jimmy proudly served his country as a sergeant in the United States Army.

Jimmy enjoyed the simple things in life, like spending time in his garage tinkering with a project, mowing his lawn just the way he liked it, being outdoors taking in the world around him and enjoying time with his family and the dogs he loved so much. His easy going nature and quick wit were a constant part of who he was. To know Jimmy was to understand his humor. He took great pleasure in making people smile and could always be counted on for a quick remark or story to share. In all the ways that mattered, he made ordinary days brighter for the people he loved. His warmth, humor, and love will be dearly missed and forever cherished.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Donna; six children: Michael (Alicia) Young, Daniel (Tina) Young, Diana (John) Myers, Ricky Emery Jr., Kristy Emery and Kaitlynn Marks; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Jimmy was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Robert.
