Louis Bailey Obituary

Louis Merle Bailey, aged 71, of Niles, Mich., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, at Majestic Care of South Bend.

Born on July 8, 1954, in Niles to the late Ronald F. and Edna J. (Fuller) Bailey, Louis was united in marriage to Joan Lee (Matich) Bailey on Nov. 15, 1974, in Dillon, S.C.; Mrs. Bailey survives him. In addition to his wife of 50 years, Louis is survived by his daughter, Jeannie (Chris) Spychalski; grandchildren, Emma and Allen; and brothers, Landon M. Bailey, Sandy Bailey and Robert W. (Marie) Bailey.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Louis Bailey, Jr; sister, Sally Kennedy; and brother, Ronald F. Bailey, Jr. Louis honorably served in the United States Army before embarking on a career as a welder in the RV industry.

He enjoyed bowling, fishing and traveling throughout the U.S. A graveside service with military honors will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan, Mich.

Palmer Funeral Homes-Hoven Chapel is overseeing the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 51 in Buchanan, or to the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences may be submitted to the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
