On Dec. 14, 1963, she married Richard "Dick" Hagenauer in Kalamazoo. Marian was a teacher, first teaching at Mound Park Elementary School in Warren, Mich., and then at Lincoln Elementary School in St. Joseph, until she started her family. Marian was a member of Stevensville United Methodist Church. She volunteered at Memorial Hospital in St. Joseph as well as for Civic Benefit and Lakeshore Public Schools. Marian and Dick enjoyed the fellowship of their dinner group. Marian was able, with the help of her devoted, long-time friends, to continue to enjoy fellowship with her dinner group after Dick's passing in 2014. She also enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends whenever she could, along with shopping for a deal and making jewelry. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family and many friends.
