Mark Prescott Daugherty was called home to be with the Lord on Nov. 16, 2021.

He was born on Nov. 22, 1943, in Ann Arbor, Mich., to Katherine (Hughes) Daugherty and Clarence Chauncey Daugherty.

Mark served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne division stationed in Europe. He graduated from Hartford High School and earned a degree in corrections.

He was employed at the Watervliet Papermill, Klett Construction, and Grounds Lead at Whirlpool Corp. He was the proud owner of Superior Lawn Care for more than 25 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda (Barker) Daugherty, with whom he recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on Nov. 11, 2021.

Mark and Wanda shared four children: Tanya (Daugherty) Chapman, Mark, Michael and RaShonda Daugherty, five grandchildren: Tiffany (Watkins) Layne, Jennifer, Danny Layne and Grace Daugherty; eight great-grandchildren: Adryona, Wyatt Watkins, Joshua, Jocelyn, Josiah, Gabrielle, Nathan and Madelyn Layne.

He has been a follower of Jesus for many years and attended the Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Dowagiac.

He was greatly loved and will be forever missed.

To my Aunt Wanda and all of my Cousins, I´m so very saddened and sorry to hear of Uncle Mark´s passing. He was a great Man, always had a smile on his face. I´ve thought of you all many times over the years and miss you. I live on the East Coast, please contact me via my email I´m sending, it´s been too long. God Bless

Wanda, please accept our most sincere sympathy in the loss of Mark. Such a shock to read this I still remember the day I stood beside you when you and Mark said your marriage vows. May God hold you in his arms as you grieve the great loss of Mark. Send you loving hugs.
