Pamela Jean Bradford, 71, of Benton Harbor passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family at home.
Pam was born on May 20, 1954, in Anchorage, Ala., to Jack and Delores (Mischler) Bush. She graduated from Watervliet High School in 1972 and, on Oct. 6, 1973, married the love of her life, Dennis Lee Bradford. Together they built a life grounded in teamwork, laughter and love.
Diligent, reserved and genuine, Pam was the epitome of cool: creative, independent, unapologetically herself and a true pioneer at heart. She and Dennis worked together, hauling wood for the winter, tending to the garden, or carefully transplanting trees from the woods to their front yard.
She was deeply connected to nature, spending quiet moments watching the wildlife and keeping a close eye on her hummingbird feeder. Her property was her sanctuary, a space where nature could thrive freely, and no one was allowed to hunt.
Being crafty, Pam expressed herself through quilting, painting, ceramics, sketching, and building intricate model homes. For more than 30 years, quilting was one of her greatest joys, each piece a testament to her creativity and care. She also had a passion for genealogy, tracing her family's roots as far back as she could, always curious, always learning.
Pam's heart was as generous as it was strong. She was a guiding, giving soul, and made deep, personal connections that made others feel supported and understood. Her wisdom, warmth, and quiet strength will be remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.
Pam is survived by her husband of 52 years, Dennis Bradford; sons: Christopher Bradford and Eric Bradford; granddaughter, Keeley Fisher and sisters: Robin (George) Martell, Susan Steigmeyer and Jackie Coleman.
She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Delores Bush and brother, John Bush Jr.
Memorial Services will be at noon on Saturday, Nov. 8, followed by a celebration of life gathering throughout the rest of the day at Secret Garden at the Harbor, 209 W. Main St., Benton Harbor.
