Wayne Franklen Kerby, 82, of South Bend, Ind., passed away at 2:48 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
Wayne was born on March 5, 1943, in Hamilton, Ohio, to Henry F. and Louise M. (Benson) Kerby.
Wayne retired from the Bosch Corp. in October 2010 after 29 years of employment as a computer analyst. He had also been employed at Peoples State Bank, Inter City Bank and Farmers and Merchants bank all in Benton Harbor and Northwoods Log Homes in LaPorte, Minn.
On Nov. 22, 1963, in Benton Harbor, he married Mary Lucile Wilson, who survives. Wayne is also survived by his daughter, Jennifer L. (Richard) Johnson of South Bend; his two sons: Jeffery W. Kerby of Stanberry, Mo., and Michael R. (Jill) Kerby of Berrien Center; seven grandchildren: Ariel (Jaime) Ledford, Ean Kerby, Tyler (Kelsey) Kerby, Matthew (Katie) Kerby, Ryan (Jillian) Kerby, Jason (Oliva) Kerby and Samuel W. Johnson; six great-grandchildren: Brendon, Madilynn, Larkin, Jude, Quinn and Otis; and his brother, James Ray (Julia) Kerby of LaPorte, Minn.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, in Calvary Church, 3001 W. Cleveland Road, South Bend, where a visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Wayne was a member of Calvary Church where he was a member of the Stephen Ministry. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
