Raleigh, North Carolina - Deborah Whitlow Sherrill, 74, of Raleigh, passed away January 16, 2024.

Deborah was born in Greensboro, NC on December 23, 1949 to Lawrence and Annirene Whitlow. She graduated with honors from Page High School and graduated from East Carolina University, where she was an active member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. While in college, she met Jack David Sherrill at a party in Greensboro where she was visiting friends. Upon graduation, she moved to Richmond, Virginia working in hospital administration. Soon after, she began working in medical device sales and later pharmaceutical sales. She was the first female pharmaceutical sales representative in the state of Virginia. In rural areas, she had her grandfather, a good Virginian, accompany her on sales calls.

In 1977, at Hayes Barton Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC, she married the love of her life, Jack Sherrill and moved to Raleigh following their marriage because Jack had started VIP Formal Wear in Raleigh, NC. Together, they welcomed their daughter, Leslie Sherrill, and raised her in Raleigh. Deborah continued her career in pharmaceutical sales and began working for Roche Pharmaceuticals where she worked for more than thirty years. She was a devoted mom, active in everything her daughter did including Moms in Prayer at Ravenscroft School and traveling and attending swim meets.

Deborah is preceded in death by her beloved father, her brother, Kenneth Childers of Spartanburg, SC, and her mother. She is survived by her husband, Jack Sherrill of Raleigh, NC, her daughter, Leslie Bolick and son-in-law, Tate Bolick of Charlotte, NC and grandchildren, Elizabeth Sherrill Bolick and Tate Daniel Bolick, Junior.

Services will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Renaissance Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, with a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park. Condolences: www.rfhr.com.
