Durham, North Carolina - Earline Hendrix Weed, 91, of Durham, NC, passed away peacefully Saturday March 20, 2021 at Brookdale Chapel Hill Senior Living. She was born in Polk County, Georgia, the youngest of 10 children, to Asa Jackson Hendrix and Era Dobbs Hendrix. All of whom preceded her in death. Mrs. Weed was also preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, William A Weed Jr.
Survivors include her son, William A Weed III of Durham, her daughter Angela Harris and husband Tim Harris of Spotsylvania, Va; her grandchildren, Beth Harris and Matt Harris, both of Richmond, Va and their partners. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews on both sides of her family who she loved dearly.
The family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale Chapel Hill in Durham for the wonderful gentle care and attention she received and also the staff of Heartland Hospice for all the indispensable care and engagement they gave Ms. Weed that enhanced her life. Both brought her comfort.
Earline Weed was a long time member of Lowe's Grove Baptist Church, Durham, NC where a graveside service will take place at their cemetery on Monday, March 29th at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Mrs. Weed's name, can be made to Lowe's Grove Baptist Church, 4430 S. Alston Ave, Durham, NC 27713.
Earline loved people and would want her family and friends to celebrate her life instead of mourning her passing.
