Tommy Hunter was born and raised in Durham, NC and passed on his birthday, March 30th in Palm Bay, FL, playing bluegrass. He was predeceased by his mother, Ione Hunter, his father Elbert Thomas Hunter, Sr., and his son, Keith Hunter. Survivors: wife, Elaine Hunter, sister Carolyn Overby, his daughters Janet Hunter and Lisa Reaves and husband Darrell, his grandson Christopher Barker and granddaughter Jennifer Ross, great-granddaughter Reagan Ross.
Tommy was a retired electrician, heat and air. He was a member of South Babcock Baptist Church of Palm Bay, FL. He was a musician and loved to pick bluegrass, his passion. He loved his family and friends.
Service will be May 4th 5:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 301 S. Mineral Springs Rd., Durham NC 27703. Pastor Ray Smith officiating.
