Hazel McGugan Obituary
October 8, 1933 - June 28, 2022
Durham, North Carolina - Hazel Jenet Scruggs McGugan went home to her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ on May, 28, 2022. Born in Cumberland County, she was the daughter of the late W.D. Scruggs and Ollie Scruggs. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. McGugan, Sr.
She is survived by three sons, Joseph H. McGugan, Jr. and wife Anita, William Barry McGugan and wife Debbie and Steven T. McGugan and wife Tammy; a sister, Cordellia Scruggs; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Maplewood Cemetery. There will be no public viewing.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the North Carolina Baptist Children's Home, 204 Idol St, Thomasville, NC 27360.

What a sweet strong loving giving woman Hazel was! I will miss her but happily share her with Uncle Joe and the other people I have known and loved who are with our Lord in Heaven. She was there for us when mom passed. I loved her fun loving spirit which I saw when she visited Florida years ago now. What a gem she was. God bless you all with happy memories and enduring love.
