Raleigh, North Carolina - Hilda Ree Myers Holmes, 87, passed away Monday, May 22, 2023. She was born March 1, 1936 in Davidson County to the late Gilbert Crawford Myers and Mary Lena Tate Myers. Hilda graduated from Pilot School and attended Meredith College. She retired as a payroll deductions manager with State Employees Credit Union after 37 years of service. Hilda was co-owner with her husband, Don of Knightdale Florist for 20+ years.
A service to celebrate her life will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 27, 2023 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale. Burial will follow at New Knightdale Baptist Church Cemetery, Knightdale.
The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 11:00 am to 12:45 pm at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Edward Holmes; son, Michael Wayne Cook (Yana); daughter, Melissa Carol Cook (Bill Sellars); grandchildren: Sarah Elizabeth Plautz (Eric), Ashley Marie Cook, Diana Godlevskaya; former daughter-in-law, Mary Wilhelm; brother, Darrell Crawford Myers (Sandy); sister, Glenda M. Medlin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Hilda was preceded in death by her son, James Kevin Cook and sister, Carol Rovilla Sellers.

As the earth loses a truly special lady, Heaven rejoices in gaining a lovely and dear soul! Aunt Hilda was such a treasure, and I will miss her soft-spoken, sweet voice most.
