Willow Spring, North Carolina - Larry Corbitt Myatt, age 82, died April 8, 2025, at Central Harnett Hospital, Lillington, NC from complications of Covid infection and pneumonia. He was born in Wake County on October 22, 1942, to Willard Corbitt Myatt and Vira Matthews Myatt.
Larry grew up on the family farm helping his father raise tobacco, corn, soybeans and pigs. He eventually settled into a job with PepsiCo and retired after working there for many years. He then started working for Bill Smyers at Thee Inspection Station in Raleigh until he retired a second time.
Larry spent his 'retirement' years caring for his cats and riding his scooter.
He is survived by wife, Carla Ruth Myatt, brother, Willard Sandy Myatt ("Sandy") (wife, Sandra), brother, Benny Earl Myatt (wife, Jenny), sister, Angela Hamilton (husband, Curtis) as well as nephews, Jason Myatt (wife, Nicole), Willard Sandy Myatt Jr. ("Buddy") (wife, Carmen), Curtis Hamilton Jr., nieces, Ami Myatt, Tricia Myatt, and Emily Hamilton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willard Corbitt Myatt, mother, Vira Matthews Myatt, and stepmother, Tiny Privette Myatt.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Green Leaf Assisted Living for their kind and compassionate care while he was a resident there as well as the staff (especially Dr. Henderson) at Central Harnett Hospital for the great and thorough care he received while there as a patient. In addition, the family thanks Pastor Chris Turner and the members of Neill's Creek Baptist Church for their support of and assistance to both Larry and Carla over the past several years.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Meals on Wheels of Wake County.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 300 E. McIver St Angier, NC 27501. A visitation was held at Bryan-Lee on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 6:00 to 6:45 PM with a memorial service that followed at 7:00 PM in the chapel. A private interment will be held later at Neill's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Angier.
Keep in mind Larry's advice when one parted ways with him, 'Behave yourself.'
