Raleigh, North Carolina - Stanley McNeil Rose [January 28, 1931 - June 14, 2023] - Stanley McNeil Rose of Mt. Airy passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. He was born in Surry County January 28, 1931 to John Clinton Rose and Pearl Tolbert Rose. He was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters, and his grandson Jason King. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Phyllis Ray Scott Rose, his son Kenneth Rose of Raleigh, his son Michael Rose, wife Lisa and grandson Harrison of Greensboro, his daughter Susan R. Vincent of Raleigh, and many special nieces and nephews. He graduated from Franklin High School, Gardner-Webb College and Guilford College, and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was employed by the N.C. Employment Security Commission until his retirement, living in Greensboro and Raleigh. While in Greensboro, he was a member of College Park Baptist Church, in Raleigh a member of Longview Baptist Church, and in Mount Airy a member of First Baptist Church. There will be no formal visitation, and the family requests no flowers. Memorial contributions my be given to First Baptist Church, Mount Airy. A private family graveside service will be held at Oakdale Cemetery at a later date, with Pastor Jay Meadows officiating.
