Wayne Campbell Obituary
February 2, 1938 - October 19, 2023
Cary, North Carolina - James Wayne (Wayne) Campbell, 85, went to be with his heavenly father on the 19th of October at his home, surrounded by his family. A native of Guilford County, he was the son of Matilda Fairene White and James Dolphin Campbell (both deceased).
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM, November 1st at Glenaire Retirement Community, 4000 Glenaire Circle in Cary, NC. The family will receive friends immediately after the service. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
Wayne was preceded in death by his daughter Jenny Campbell. In addition, he is predeceased by his sister, Wanda Campbell Mendenhall of High Point, NC. He was a proud member of the military for almost 30 years, employed with the state of NC for another 10, and member of the part-time staff at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home for another 10.
Wayne is survived by wife Peggy (49 years) of Cary; daughter, Lisa Nelms and husband David of Angier; daughter, Jennifer Morgan and husband Michael of Mandeville, LA. son Jim Campbell and wife Sabrina of Asheboro. Also surviving is grandson, Ryan Nelms and wife Allison and their children Brock and Baylee of Angier. Also surviving is granddaughter, Christina Jones and husband Eric and their son Dylan of Clayton. Also surviving are grandsons, Dalton Morgan and Dylan Morgan of Mandeville, LA.
