January 12, 1938 - July 4, 2021
Atlanta, Georgia - WILLIAM ALLEN WILLIAMHAM GRAY, 83, of Atlanta , GA formerly of Boulder, Colorado entered into Eternity on July 4, 2021 and was the son of the late Donnan Evans Gray and the late Kathryn Judd Gray.
Bill graduated from St. Christopher's School in Richmond , Virginia, attended the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and served in the United States Marine Corp after completing his undergraduate studies. Bill was an entrepreneur, but started out in residential and commercial real estate in Durham, North Carolina and then moved to Boulder, Colorado where he became a partner in Commercial Real Estate.
Bill cherished the outdoors and traveling. He was most passionate about river rafting having run dozens of Class 5 rivers throughout the United States, Russia, and Europe, one of which was filmed and broadcast on Discovery Channel. He lead bicycle trips though France, cross country ski expeditions in Antarctica, and loved to hunt, fish and ski in his home state of Colorado. He managed to travel through at least 72 countries in his lifetime, and by all accounts was a true adventurist who lived his life to the fullest. He was outgoing, generous with others, and made lifelong friends wherever he went.
Bill was preceded in death by his twin sister, Sue Willingham Gray and is survived by his two sons whom he loved and cared for, Donnan Evans Gray[Jennifer] of Atlanta, Georgia and Christopher O'Donnel Gray of Denver, Colorado. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Reagan Evans Gray, Payton Elizabeth Gray, Carter Evans Gray and two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Dula of Charlotte, NC and Judd Gray Oyler(David) of Marietta, Georgia.
The family would like to thank Heritage Hospice for their care and for his caregiver, Jeanetta Felton who graciously took care of him for the past year and one half.
There will be a family graveside service at Oakridge Cemetery in South Boston, Virginia following his cremation.
