Anthony Caragiulo Obituary

Anthony Caragiulo (Tony) of Sarasota, FL formerly of Brooklyn, NY died March 5, 2015.
He was born in Mola di Bari, Italy and immigrated to the United States in 1956. He married Anna Testa of Rockaway Beach, NY in 1959. The couple have six children. After owning a successful bakery in Brooklyn, NY for many years, he moved his family to Sarasota in 1989 to open Caragiulos Italian-American Restaurant on Palm Avenue. Tony loved to watch baseball, football and tennis on television. He was also an avid golfer and lifelong poker player.
Tony is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Anna, his sons, John, Mark, Robert, Anthony and Paul, daughter, Michele, son-in-law Eugene, daughters-in-law, LeeAnn, Jodi, Dina, Nikki and grandchildren, Alexandra, Michael, Lauren, Ryan, Erin, Lucas, Roman, Cassius, Olivia, Mia, Sophie, Caroline and Aviana.
A memorial gathering will be held at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, 40 North Orange Avenue, Sarasota on Wednesday March 11, 2015 from 6-8 p.m.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Martha Catholic Church, 200 North Orange Avenue, Sarasota on Thursday March 12, 2015 at 1:30pm.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to: Fausto's Angels c/o St. Martha Church 200 North Orange Avenue, Sarasota, FL 34236.

Tony was an inspiration to all for his dedication to his family and what he achieved during his life. A true "American Success Story" that I had the good fortune of having as a friend. I will miss him but his legacy will live on.
