July 30, 1943 - July 22, 2017
Ed graduated from DeSoto High School, Class of 1961. Ed then attended Manatee Jr. College before enlisting into the Navy in May of 1964. In August he married the love of his life Sharon McLeod and located to NAS Jacksonville, FL for Aircraft Electrical training. After his discharge from the Navy in 1968 he moved with family to Sarasota, FL. and worked for General Telephone Company for a total of 31 years.
Retiring in June of 1999 he and wife Sharon enjoyed the good life of retirement. RVing the USA and visiting a total of 38 states, playing golf and fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Sharon McLeod Albritton of Lake Placid, FL., one son Wallace (Sheri) Albritton of Fort Myers, FL., one brother Terry (Maryanne) Albritton of Bonifay, FL., one sister Kay (William) Stewart of Dozier, AL, three grandchildren Alexa L. Albritton, Devin D. Albritton and Conner M. Albritton and many extended family. Edward was preceded in death by his son Edward William Albritton and parents.
A visitation of family and friends will be held Friday, July 28, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia
Graveside services will be Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 10:00 am at Owens Cemetery next to Mt. Ephraim Baptist Church, 2865 SW County Rd. 661, Arcadia.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Cornerstone Hospice Foundation, 2445 Lane Park Rd., Tavares, FL. 32778 or Florida Cancer Specialist Foundation, 5204 Paylor Ln., Sarasota, FL. 34240

Ed & Sharon were our neighbor and best friends for many, many years. Till they moved away to other side of the state. We miss Ed very much.

I met Ed through the GTE Golf League and worked with him in Venice until his retirement. He was truly one of the nicest people I have ever met. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. He will be missed by many.

I'm so sad for family's and friends to hear about Eds passing. Ed was a super good person he will be missed greatly I knew Ed from the first day he come to work at GTE ln Sarasota. Again I am so sorry to of his passing!

Mr Ed, as we all called him, was a very dear friend, for many,many years. Our boys grew up together, and Ed and Ralph coached Redskin football teams together, so many happy memories thru so many years. God has you now Ed, and some day we will be together again. Loved and miss you my friend.
