George Dawson Wrightson Jr.

George Dawson Wrightson Jr., 83, Longboat Key, died May 25, 2004. He was born Jan. 1, 1921, in Elizabeth, N.J., and came to Longboat Key 12 years ago from Hanover, N.H. He was a sales representative and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Bird Key Yacht Club, the board of governors for the Longboat Key Center for the Arts, and All Angels by the Sea Episcopal Church. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; daughters Mary Boothby of Iowa and Ann of New York City; a son, George of Vancouver, British Columbia; a stepson, Brian Rickenbacker; stepdaughters Marcia Rickenbacker and Nancy Schindler; four grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today at All Angels by the Sea Episcopal Church. Sarasota Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge.
