Harold York Obituary

Harold F. York, 88, of Englewood, died Jan. 18, 2010.
There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be private. Lemon Bay Funeral Homes, Englewood Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lee, and a sister, June Weirauch of Midland, Mich.
He is also survived by his brother in law, Herbert; sister- in-law, Helen Deitrick of Defiance, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He was born in Crookston, Minn., and came to the Englewood area from the Midwest in 1977. He was a graduate engineer and attended General Motors Institute (Kettering University). He retired after 39 years working for General Motors in various executive positions. He was employed as a consultant for seven years by CMI International after moving to Englewood.
He was a member of the Society of Automobile Engineers, American Foundrymens Society and Alpha Gamma Upsilon fraternity; and a life member of the Englewood Elks Lodge #2378 and a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Englewood.
Memorial donations may be made to either Christ Lutheran Church, 701 North Indiana Ave., Englewood, FL 34223, or TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.

Dear Aunt Mary Lee,
I was so sad to hear about Uncle Harold's passing from mom and dad. Although we lived on opposite coasts and did not see each other often, you both hold a very special place in my heart. May God give you peace and comfort and allow you to recall the wonderful life the two of you shared.
