Helga died February 21, 2017 with her husband and daughter by her side.
Helga was born in Dresden, Germany and came to the USA in 1958 to marry her husband, also originally from Dresden, Germany. Helga was a loving and devoted wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cared for her children while her husband worked for 20 years at Polaroid. They lived for many years in Whitman, Massachusetts while vacationing in Venice, Florida before moving permanently to Venice in 2013. She enjoyed traveling to Germany to spend time with family and friends, dancing, gardening, and caring for her family. Helga was a great cook and baker and worked for many years as a hairdresser.
Helga will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband of 59 years, Manfred of Venice, FL; her daughter Petra Luddy of Harwich, MA, Cape Cod; her son Andreas Gross and his wife Donna of Taunton, MA; three granddaughters Katrina Luddy, LeAndrea Eddy, and Brittany Nickerson; as well as a great-grandson Noah Eddy.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, March 1st at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel. To share a memory, visit www.farleyfuneralhome.com.
