Dr. John Bugosh died after a battle with sarcoma tumor cancer at home in Jacaranda Trace, Venice, surrounded by his loving family.
John Bugosh attended Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio, obtaining his Ph.D. (1949) in Physical Chemistry. He began work for the DuPont Company after graduation. He taught physics at night at Case Western during the war on a voluntary basis in response to the teacher shortage. He was transferred by the DuPont Co. to Wilmington to work at the experimental station as a research chemist. During his time there he was responsible for 29 patents. After a promotion, he was responsible for developing a new growth strategy for the entire industrial chemicals department, which involved a complete reorganization of the sales, marketing and R&D functions of the department.
Dr. Bugosh was also a long time Mason of Lodge No 29 in Delaware. He was not only a deeply respected manager at DuPont Co., and a scientist who published many scholarly articles, he was also an avid and knowledgeable gardener (constructing beautiful stone wall terraces at several of his homes), an historian and genealogist.
He was generous, had a great sense of humor, was a hard worker and devoted husband and father who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
