John Rall Obituary

Rall, Jr., John Milton
Oct. 11, 1929 - May 11, 2016
John "Jack" Milton Rall, Jr., was born in Newark, NJ, the fifth child and only son to John Milton Rall, Sr. and Edith Pierson Rall (Conway). He died peacefully after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson's Disease. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, JoAnn Edith Rall (Bausmith); his children, Eric Andrew Rall and wife Jodi, Megan Anne Natherson and husband Russ, and Kristen Lee Rall; and his grandchildren, Katie Ellen, Zoe Rebecca, Eric Andrew, Jr., and John William Rall and Russell John "RJ" and Robyn Anne Natherson. He was predeceased by his four sisters, Dorothy, Mildred, Muriel and Florence.
He grew up in Millburn, NJ, attended the Citadel in Charleston, SC, and graduated from Western Maryland College in 1952. After serving two years in the United States Army as a 1st Lieutenant, Jack earned an MBA degree from New York University. His career as a security analyst was very rewarding. In 1981 he left Wall Street and retired with his family to Sarasota to restore little Spanish houses. Three years later he rejoined the world of finance and accepted a position with the State Board of Administration in Tallahassee, managing portfolios for the state pension fund. After 11 years he again retired, first to Summerfield and finally back to Sarasota. Jack was a quiet man who was loved by all who knew him and he will be dearly missed. The family would like to thank his loving care givers, Rimas Vizgaudis and San Thawalanthanne.
A private burial was held at the Sarasota National Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 26 at 11:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 4150 S. Shade Ave., a reception will follow.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church or Neuro Challenge Foundation, 5602 Marquesas Circle #211, Sarasota, FL 34233.
