I just heard the news and I am so sorry to hear of his untimely death. It was an honor to serve with Ken. We had a good case out of Cape Cod when he hoisted the entire crew of the fishing vessel COVERED WAGON that was sinking in the north atlantic. He was a good flight mech and a good man. He will be missed.

To the Murtaugh Family, my sincere thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of mourning. Although we never met, your family was well represented in Kenny and his kind heart. Ken, your humor and attitude will be sorely missed by everyone at 63 House. You always had a way of making me laugh even when I was down. I will never forget you my friend. May your spirit live forever on that ladder truck and you'll be in my heart everytime we flip those lights on. It's only been a couple of days and your absence is already felt. See you on the flip side brother!

Ken will be missed. I was so encouraged by his love and compassion for his fellow man. I was able to eat dinner at the firehouse with the brothers when Ken was on duty. That memory I will always cherish. I offer my most sincere condolances and sympathy to the family.

Death leaves a heartache
No one can heal;
Love leaves a memory
No one can steal
Kennie will always be with us.
Words, however kind,
can't mend your heartache: ,
but those who care and ,
share your loss wish you,
comfort and peace of mind.,
May you find strength,
in the love of family,
and in the warm embrace,
of friends.,

I knew Ken when he was in the Coast Guard. His smile and love for life brightened everyones day. I will never forget the time that he tried to convince his chief to let him stay home for his last month in. As always, he made sense. You'll be missed Ken.
