Larry Salminen

Larry Salminen, 80, Port Charlotte, died May 11, 2006. He was born Nov. 28, 1925, in Keene, N.H., and came to the Charlotte County area 22 years ago from there. He served in the Army with the 272nd Combat Infantry during World War II and retired from King Plastics of North Port. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; daughters Ann, Barbara, Helen and Patricia; sons Matt, Keith, David, Vincent and Walter; sisters Lillian and Martha; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at Kays-Ponger Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel, with services following at noon. Burial will follow at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
