Meri Lee Progen, 73, of Venice, FL, formerly of Leominster, MA, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on June 2, 2016. Meri was born on April 9, 1943 in Buffalo, NY. She was a retired executive secretary from Tucker Houseware and was also a member of the Venice Florida Corvette Club and Women of the Moose Lodge #3708 in Venice, FL.
Meri had a love for antiques, decorating their beautiful home and cooking. She also enjoyed her several years as a keyboardist and singer in a local Boston area band.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Michael G. Progen, of Venice, FL; sons Arthur F. Clever III and wife Wanda of Concord, NC and Timothy J. Clever and wife Melanie of Orlando, FL; Brother James Sproul of Columbia, TN; grandchildren Arthur F. Clever IV, Jenna Clever, Shannon Guglielmello, and Tyler Clever; three step-grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 10th at 1:30 PM at Farley Funeral Home Venice Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2100 Tamiami Trail, Suite A, Venice, FL 34293, Salvation Army, 1051 Albee Farm Road, Venice, FL 34285, or to Tidewell Hospice, Inc., 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.

Meri was the most determined, strongest woman I know. She will be greatly missed. Condolences to Mike and family. And I am cooking my turkey in a paper bag come November.
