Peter Klein Obituary
April 9, 1939 - April 20, 2018
Peter Franklin Klein passed away in Sun City Center, Florida on April 20th after a long illness. He was born at St. Joseph's hospital in Chicago on April 9th, 1939 to Dorothy M Berndt Klein and Peter C Klein. Peter grew up in Rogers Park, where he attended St. Ignatius Grammar School. He went on to Lane Technical College High School Prep, where he played on the Championship 1956-57 basketball team. After High School, he attended and graduated from St. Mary's College Winona MN, where he also played on the Men's Varsity Basketball team.
Peter is survived by his three daughters - Kimberly Klein Fleming (John Fergus), Wendy Klein Bauers (Mike), Julie Klein Cassidy and a son Brett Eugene Klein (Amy), as well as his loving sister Jacquelyn Klein Fie (Larry), He was blessed with 8 beautiful granddaughters aged 2 to 24 years. Preceding him in death was the love of his life, Pallas Elkheart.
A service and celebration of his life will be held at a future date.

I miss you today as much as I missed you after I left Florida to drive back to Iowa in early April 2018. This year 2019 as I passed your exit to Sun City Center and Ruskin off of I-75, my heart sunk, was so very sad to again realize that you were gone. Love you forever. So many wonderful memories of you and your family. Your loving sister , Jackie

Peter was in my grade at St. Ignatious ... he was fun, friendly, and a genuine nice guy. That boys basketball team at Ignatious was very good.. Remembering many good times together. Bike riding, birthday parties, basketball games... Sorry to read that he passed away. Prayers to Peter and his family. Diane Head Bansley

So sorry to hear of Pete's passing. Pete was my basketball coach for the 1958 basketball tournament at St. Ignatius when I was in 8th grade. After the tournament Pete took me to the city championship game between Marshall and DeLasalle high schools. Truly one my memorable childhood experiences. My wife Dianne Enright Guest was coached in swimming by Jackie Klein. God bless to his family.
