Robert Wayne Dinger, 68, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Punxsutawney, PA went to be with the Lord on August 31, 2013, in Sarasota following a lengthy illness. Wayne, as he was known to all, was born in Punxsutawney, PA, March 28th 1945.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Toale Brothers Funeral Home of Sarasota.
A full military burial will take place on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Sarasota National Cemetery, located at 9810 State Highway 72, Sarasota, FL.
Wayne worked at the Comet Market in Punxsutawney, PA as a meat cutter for 33 years and was well known by the community. He served in the Army National Guard for 22 years. He retired to Florida in 1999 where he greatly enjoyed working at Plymouth Harbor, a retirement community until 2007.
Wayne was the amazing husband to Sandy, loving father to his 2 sons, and a friend to many and will be greatly missed. He lived by his incredible faith and his never ending smiles now light up heaven.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife Sandy of 48 years, two sons, Michael W. Dinger of Joliet, IL, and Dale C. Dinger of Bradenton, FL, three sisters, Claire Walker of Henderson, NV, Marybell Dunn of New Jersey, and Lois Mennetti of Punxsutawney, PA, three brothers, Richard Dinger of New Jersey, Byron Dinger of Brookville, PA, and John Dinger of Punxsutawney, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ervin E. and Mary L. Dinger, sisters Verna Bish and Violet Morse, and three brothers Carl, Sam, and Bud Dinger.
