Simon Wittes Obituary
Jan. 30, 1926 - Aug. 29,2007
Dr. Simon "Si" Wittes, 81, Sarasota, formerly of Boston and Ann Arbor, Montreal, died Aug. 29, 2007.
Visitation and services will be in Toronto, but a memorial service will be in Sarasota in the near future. Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, Toronto, handled arrangements.
Si (Sonny) Wittes, beloved husband, friend, and champion of Glorianne for 58 years; tender and wise father to Bobby and Julie; adored grandfather to Chloe, Melanie, Layla, and Katie; delighted and amazed great-grandfather to Talia and Safia; and grateful uncle to Paul, Carla, and Shelli, died of natural causes in Sarasota, Florida, on Wednesday, Aug. 29 at age 81.
Si was born and raised in Montreal, lived in Ann Arbor (Michigan) and Boston, and then retired from his practice as a clinical psychologist to Sarasota, Florida. He was a compassionate, joyful, and accepting man who blessed the lives of those who knew him.
A graveside service will be held in Toronto on the morning of Sunday, Sept. 2, and a memorial service will be held in Sarasota in the near future. Donations in Si's honor may be made to the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Association http://www.4hcm.org/WCMS/index.php/donate; or to the Canadian Friends of Hebrew University http://www.cfhu.org .

Dear Glorianne and family: When I said my Goodbyes to you and Dr. Wittes, I didn't think that it would be a last for him. As a nurse, my nature is to be realistic, but always optimistic at the same time. I know you all will miss him, but,as it is with my late husband the good memories and the special love that all of you have shared never go away. From me, and Robin, please accept our condolences.
