Thomas Terpstra Obituary

Thomas Ryan Terpstra, age 47, of Sarasota, formerly of Grand Rapids, Mich., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 14, 2008.
Tom's expertise in working with wood landed him a position with Today's Builders as a supervisor and lead carpenter. Tom enjoyed scuba diving and playing golf. We will always remember his warm smile, off-the-wall sense of humor and his passion for life.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen; stepdaughter Danielle; and sons Ryan and Jacob; mother Bernadette Terpstra; brother Richard (Joyce) Terpstra and his children, Andrew and Nicole; sister Cathleen (Eric) Dowell and their children, Kevin, Meagin, Erin and Sina; and sister Jacalyn Wood and her son, Warren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Moose Lodge #608, 6577 Superior Ave., Sarasota.
An education fund has been established in the name of Ryan and Jacob Terpstra at Florida Shores Bank, 500 U.S. Bypass 41, Venice, FL 34285.

It was a pleasure to have known Tom these past two years. He attended many of Warren's Lacrosse
games....and We always enjoyed Tom's company ! He made me laugh and he laughed alot at my rediculous
pet peeves ! He was sweet and kind to my husband and I . Tom was
so easy to be around and our hearts
are so heavy with grief ! Tom, you
are safe in God's kingdom , may you
rest in eternal peace, and we will laugh again someday !

Tom was a good man. He cared very deeply about his family. He taught his boys how to grow up to be good and honest men. He taught them to be moral and to carry on the family values of hard work and play. He may be missed, but surely not forgotten in the legacy of his sons. Love, Aunt Sue
