Kathleen Francis Heitz, June 16, 1934—November 8, 2021. Age: 87. Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandma, Aunt and friend to so many. She is one of 6 children born to Mary Alice and John Walsh. In the past, Kay worked as a quality control technician for Wolverine Coil Coating, a paint and coatings Company, while raising her four children—3 sons and 1 daughter. Kay moved to Florida with her second husband and resided in Springhill and Dunnellon for over 30 years. While in Florida she worked for Spartan Electronics for several years where she met many friends that she enjoyed spending time with and lunching together. After Spartan's Kay worked as a hostess at a local Golf and Country Club which she enjoyed very much. She was definitely a "People Person" laughing and joking with everyone. She wanted everybody to just be happy! Kay also enjoyed Yoga class and volunteering at her Church. Her most memorable vacation was a trip with her two sisters to her parent's birthplace in Ireland. Kay relocated back to Michigan in 2018 to be with her family. She resided at Forest View Assisted Living where she, again, made many friends. She enjoyed consistent visits, facility parties, and parades with family, friends and staff. She was certainly an "Irish Rose" and will be deeply missed. Funeral Services were held Friday, November 19, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church in Grosse Ile and the final burial took place at Sacred Heart Memorial Gardens next to our Historical St. Anne Chapel on East River, Grosse Ile, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Kathleen Heitz. Arrangements were handled by Czopek Funeral Directors.
