DIANNA MCKINNEY Obituary

DIANA LYNN MCKINNEY 1944-2024 Diana Lynn McKinney, 79, Hiawatha, Kansas, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024. She was born June 3, 1944 in Jackson County, Missouri to Fred and Marie (Ross) Smith. Diana requested no services, and for those who knew her to take a moment to personally remember her. She was a loving and caring person who wanted the best for everyone, however, we cannot forget her ornery, stubborn, and playful sides. Throughout her lifetime Diana moved often, living in Arizona, Kansas, and Missouri among various other places. The last 14 years she spent at Maple Grove Complex in Hiawatha, where she could be found playing games and doing puzzles with friends and neighbors. Diana loved to play card games and vowed to win every time (if she didn't win, you were cheating), read crime and suspenseful novels, and watch action-packed movies. She once claimed to be the best dart thrower around. Diana loved her family and was never happier than when she was surrounded by those she loved. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her children, Robert W. Bishop, III, Kelli K. Kent (Charles), and Christy L. Lewis; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sisters, Joy McBee and Renee Love. Diana was a member of the Kansas Cremation Service. Online guestbook and obituary at www.kansascremation.com.
