Ann Page Obituary

Ann LaRue Sigmon Page

July 21, 1941 - July 28, 2022

Ann LaRue Sigmon Page, 81, formerly of Hickory, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022, at her residence in Middleburg, Fla.

Born July 21, 1941, in Hickory, she was the daughter of the late Hubert R. Sigmon and Ann McDonald Sigmon. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her son, William Russell Page Sr.

Ann was a graduate of Hickory High School. After her marriage to Bill, she was a military wife for 22 years and lived in 14 states and the Republic of West Germany. After moving back to Hickory, they were members of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church.

Ann was an avid reader and had an extensive collection of Stephen King books. She loved to color, crochet, play video games, and watch movies and t.v. shows. She delighted in raising her son and grandchildren.

Ann experienced 17 years of poor health, which she handled amazingly well with no complaints. Her strong faith, her gift of inner peace, and her strong will and determination served her well through unbelievable hardships. She served as an example to all who knew her on how to live life with all its challenges.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, William "Bill" Page Jr.; four grandchildren, Derek Page, Jessica Surratt, Billy Page and Tony Page; and a number of deeply devoted in-laws and cousins.

A celebration of Ann's life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 4, in the chapel of Bass-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to services.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
