Billy Lowman Obituary
August 5, 1939 - August 19, 2022
Billy Ray Lowman, 83, of Hickory, passed away Friday, Aug. 19, 2022, at Frye Regional Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 5, 1939 in Catawba County, the son of the late Guy Edward Lowman and Helen Stewart Lowman. He was a member of Winkler's Grove Baptist Church and employed as an upholsterer in the furniture industry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Lowman; two brothers; and three sisters.
He is survived by sons, Terry Lowman and wife, Tamatha of Hickory and Darrell Lowman and wife, Debi of Conover; daughters, Dawn Alvarez and husband, Jesse and Cynthia Maynor both of Hickory; stepson, Rodney Goble and wife, Wendy of Newton; stepdaughter, Robin Fulbright and husband, Michael of Claremont; three brothers, Jim Lowman, Guy Lowman and Jerry Lowman; three sisters, Shirley Lackey, Sally Sigmon and Margie Wright; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, Aug. 25, at 6 p.m., at Winkler's Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Deal officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m., at the church, prior to the service.
