June 29, 1935 - February 17, 2022
Billy Joe "Whitey" Settlemyre, 86, of Hudson, departed this life to his heavenly home Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022, at Amorem Hospice following a period of declining health.
Mr. Settlemyre was born June 29, 1935, in Lincoln County, to the late Earl Settlemyre and Fushia Canipe Settlemyre. He was a retired mechanic with Cramer Lumber Company, and was a member of Clover Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Parham Settlemyre; and two brothers, Mallie Settlemyre and Larry Settlemyre.
Survivors include his children, Toby Settlemyre White and husband, Ben of Littleton, and Tonya Settlemyre McDaniel and husband, W.L. of Lenoir, Billy Dwayne Settlemyre and wife, Angelia of Shallotte, and Regina Settlemyre Greenough and husband, John of Wallace; grandchildren, Megan Elizabeth Hollander and husband, Bryan, Emily Suzanne Hunsinger and husband, Benjamin, Taylor Haynes McDaniel and wife, Mandy, Ethan Lee McDaniel and wife, Heather, John Turner Greenough III and wife, Candice, Kyndall Morgan Greenough, Matthew Joe Greenough and wife, Kayla, Nicholas Chase Settlemyre and Brandon Cole Settlemyre; great-grandchildren, Max, Leo and Lucy Hollander, Gabe, Maddox and Sully Grey McDaniel, Paislyn and Camden Greenough, and Kayden Greenough; and two sisters, Earlene Settlemyre Bryant and husband, Johnny and Patty Settlemyre Cinto.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 19, at Clover Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Keith Childers. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m., at Clover Baptist Church.
